“WaxFiend the champion you see!”, A sample that is heard
frequently throughout WaxFiend’s notorious sets. For over a
decade this DJ from Amsterdam quickly became one of Europe’s
most sought after and respected DJ’s. Combining music from
genres like HipHop, Dancehall, Afrobeat, House, Soul, R&B and
more he curates a unique sound that captivates worldwide
audiences in the clubs, and on the radio and the internet!

Currently he is the resident dj @ Encore, Amsterdam’s leading
weekly clubnight, and has regular clubnights all over Europe all
year around. Summertime means festival season and the past years
WaxFiend has played at an impressive wide range of music
festivals. From massive festivals like Lowlands and Amsterdam
Open Air to boutique festivals like Best Kept Secret and Into The
Great Wide Open, his versatile sound resonates everywhere!
Praised for preserving the art of the mixtape, WaxFiend track
record in this field is impressive. What started as a street hustle, has
eventually helped launch the careers of some of Holland’s biggest
rappers like Opposites and Kempi! He went on to do official
projects with international Dancehall superstars and in 2018 he
became the first dutch DJ who mixed an official album (Ronnie Flex
- Nori) that hit the nr.1 position on the album charts and earned a
golden plaque.

Over the years he has opened (arena)shows for artists like
Rihanna, Young Thug, Kaytranada, SBTRKT, Kehlani, Sean
Paul and many more. He has been nominated for several
awards including ‘Best DJ’ at the Dutch MOBO Awards
and has won ‘Best Mixtape’ & ‘Best Party’.
Behind the scenes he is active as the driving force behind
2 of Holland’s most respected platforms; Jamrock and
Encore. Jamrock is known globally as Amsterdam’s #1
Dancehall/Reggae event. Since 2005 Jamrock organises
events in Holland’s top venue’s and an annual festival. In
2012 he and DJ Prime founded Encore which is currently
Holland’s biggest weekly clubnight, entertaining more
than 1000 guest's every week! In 2020 he started
programming shows and nightlife in Paradiso, one of our
countries most respected music venue’s.
Always focussing on what’s next WaxFiend is currently
focussing on creating a bigger platform for South African
electronic music in Amsterdam. His Tribes and Ziongate
events are currently the biggest celebrations of these
sounds and he has brought some of SA’s most prolific
artist’s to Amsterdam already.
Focused and dedicated to his job as a DJ, event producer
and music ambassador the future is exciting!
