Leroy Styles

“The Road to succes and recognition is bumpy, long and not for everybody. You can only do this if you really love music and can’t imagine yourself doing anything else”

Those words by Leroy Styles himself are maybe the best way to introduce this successful Dutch/suriname Dj/Producer born in Rotterdam, The Netherlands and a man who understands his craft! Leroy Styles stands for groove, energy and funky beats or as he like to call it: “Just House”. He started from the early 90’s, when he was just 14 years old he fell in love with house music, till this day, when Leroy is considered on of the most successful DJ’s in the Dutch club scene, he’s depending not only on his talent but on hard work as well. So, how does one starts out by using cassette tapes to practice his mixing skills and then ends up being a much respected producer and an amazing DJ, putting out records and getting (international) support and recognition? What happened in between his first public performance at a R&B club in 1999. Soon after that first gig at a R&B club he realised that the urban crowd doesn’t felt his house music, Leroy got his first big break by getting a gig at Off-Corso, one of Rotterdam’s oldest & finest clubs and at a young age he was touring around the world.

Determined to bring “quality to the people”, Leroy Styles started a series of creative concepts of his own (Hufters, Electro Rockers) and in September 2006 his other concept, LOOKS at TheThalia was born. Every last Saturday of the month he invites the best national and international DJ’s like Kenny Dope (USA), Dennis Ferrer (USA), Kerri Chandler (USA), Manoo (FR), D-Ramirez (UK), Jazzy Jeff (USA) and many more. In 2011 he even invited as one of the first promotors “Black Coffee” to one of his party’s. Spending all of his (non existing) spare time in the studio, Leroy Styles is producing like a mad man. His 2007 ‘Booty Bass (dream)’ and 2008 ‘Pina’. These tracks became a Dutch club classic almost instantly, causing serious damage on the dance floor and are still played in the club. Followed by ‘Jus Bounce’ that caught D-Ramirez’ attention and was featured on his Ministry of Sound compilation cd in 2007, gaining huge support by worlds finest DJ’s such as Jack de Marseille, Roger Sanchez, Sander Kleinenberg, Rene Amesz, Benny Rodrigues and Steve Angello. ‘Jus Bounce’ also appeared on a Renaissance album, mixed by Paolo Mojo. Another Leroy track, God Will Set Me Free (feat. MC Crown), is featured on a Defected In The House Amsterdam 09 compilation.

For the last years, he’s also started make more impressions with his own productions. He produced and written Chris brown & Afrojack - As Your Friend that became a nr. 1 “billboard” dance club song, ’ A Like & Karusell’ that gained widespread acclaim, including DJ support from Diplo, Martin Garrix, Afrojack, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and many more. And his track ‘Can’t let go’ was een record filled with emotion and subtle rhythmics and got support from Lost Frequencies, Oliver Helden, Kygo and many more. He also produced a cross-over dance pop track with the perfect ingredients for radio. “Golden Youth” is further accented by it’s featured talent, Anjulie. “Golden youth” reached more than 30m streams across music platforms including Spotify, Itunes, Apple Music and more. With remixes and support by BBC1 and Sirius playlist we can say, he’s just started.

Leroy Styles started his own label ‘Other Days Records’ and continues to push boundaries by going at it in full swing with his own imprint. A label that pushes the very best house music while serving as a versatile platform for young talent. Other Days Records is a label that carries house and fills the gap across generations of music lovers and clubbers worldwide. The word “Genre” doesn’t mean anything here. Any track that are world-class will find a home on this label. With his own tracks like “The Night, Kala, Yekokwam (With Zakes Bantwini), Elephantidae and many more he’s supported by Kenny Dope, Black Coffee, Boddhi Satva and many more. On 25 November 2022 Leroy Styles Released his debut album “Rebirth” as a producer. With also his upcoming 2nd album “InnerSoul” he set his marks.
